She made her idol debut in 2014 as the lead rapper and dancer of the group "Laboum" while using the stage name ZN. In October 2021, it was announced that she will be using her real name Jinye for all future activities.

Besides performing, Jinye also participated in the survival program The Unit.

In October 2017, she, alongside fellow members Yujeong and Haein, became contestants on the survival show The Unit. She ranked #8 in the final, thus becoming a member of the project girl group UNI.T.

On October 8, she changed her stage name from ZN to Jinyea.
