Yeji (born as Hwang Ye-ji) is a South Korean rapper, dancer, singer and the leader of the girl group ITZY under JYP Entertainment.

In January 2016, or she was 16 in International age (or 17 years old in Korean age), Yeji got accepted as a JYP Entertainment trainee, and she already became the elite trainee at that time. And as a trainee, she appeared in different shows such as 'The Fan' and 'Stray Kids the Series'. Because of this, she was able to gain attention from the public.

In early 2019, some rumors were saying that JYP Entertainment will debut a girl group. Especially, TWICE, their recent girl group at that time, has been on their fifth year since the first year of their debut. All the rumors then turned into news that JYP Entertainment made a new girl group’s debut with five members.

On January 20, she was revealed to be one of the members of ITZY. They debuted on February 12 with the digital single "IT'z Different".

Yeji joined SBS' reality competition television series, The Fan, but was eliminated in episode 5.
